Skarn-style W project of roughly 98.0 km² in Central Norway.
Teako’s 100% owned Tosbotnet Tungsten Project spans 98 km2 and is located in the Brønnøy Municipality at the northeastern end of Tosen Fjord, Nordland. Exploration within the licence area has been limited to reconnaissance work carried out in the 1970s. Geologically, the area is composed of three main units: the Bindal granitic intrusion in the west, calcsilicate gneiss in the east, and a central north–south trending sequence of metamorphic rocks including gneisses, marble, hornblende schist, and minor peridotite. Later granite intrusions produced local skarn occurrences which hosts the area’s scheelite mineralization. Also, sulphide minerals such as chalcopyrite, pyrite, and sphalerite occur within fracture zones in the skarns. Historical sampling reported an average grade of 0.15 % W across 12 samples, with a maximum value of 0.70 % W (Skaarup, 1973)1. Exploration was conducted in the early 1970s through a joint program involving Norsk Hydro, Sydvaranger, the NGU, and the University of Copenhagen. Their reconnaissance mapping and sampling identified several scheelite occurrences, but exploration has not progressed beyond basic field investigations. The project therefore remains largely underexplored and requires modern exploration to evaluate its mineral potential.
