Teako’s 100% owned Arefjellet project is located in the Hattfjelldal municipality, Nordland, along the Swedish border and covers an area of 170 km2 . The project area comprises the Arefjellet Volcanics, a felsic volcanic package exposed within a tectonic window into the Lower Koli Nappe. This window is outlined by a major shear zone and is of particular interest due to a cluster of prospective till anomalies identified by the NGU. Understanding the age, geochemistry and tectonic setting of the Arefjellet volcanics is critical to evaluating its metallogenic potential. U–Pb dating of up to five representative samples is recommended to determine whether these volcanics are temporally equivalent to other fertile arc or rift-related volcanic sequences in the Scandinavian Caledonides. District-scale lithogeochemical sampling across the volcanic stratigraphy is proposed to assess fertility and magmatic evolution. Electromagnetic data from the NGU indicates that two graphitic metasedimentary “fingers,” originally mapped over 3.5 km, but may extend up to 17 km.
