SEDEX-style Pd-Zn-Cu project of roughly 10.0 km² in Northern Norway.
Teako’s 100% owned Yttertinden Project covers around 10 km2 and hosts the Mjønesskardet zinc-lead prospect, located about 25 km east of Bodø, Nordland. The project is easily accessible and hosts stratabound Pb-Zn-Cu sulphide mineralization within metasedimentary rocks of the Rödingsfjell Nappe Complex.
Mineralization is spatially associated with granitic intrusions and occurs within skarn horizons developed from carbonate-rich sedimentary layers that have undergone intense folding and deformation. The mineralized horizons range from 1 to 10 m in width and strike discontinuously for up to 1–2 km. Three principal mineralization styles have been identified: high-grade massive sphalerite, lower-grade banded sphalerite, and disseminated galena-chalcopyrite mineralization. Sulphide concentrations are highest within fold hinge zones.
Field investigations in 1985 revealed a complex geological history involving multiple phases of folding and intrusive activity (Grimm et al., 1986). Geochemical sampling returned numerous elevated zinc and lead values, although lead, zinc, and copper show only weak correlation, indicating the presence of distinct mineralization styles. Several geophysical anomalies in the western part of the project were recommended for follow-up exploration by previous explorers.
