hydrothermal-style Au-Ag-PGE project of roughly 20.0 km² in Northern Norway.
Teako’s 100% owned Gautelis Project covers 20 km2 of prospective geology for the discovery of precious metals deposits. The project is located around 45 km southeast of Narvik in northern Norway and hosts the Gautelis gold occurrence within the Paleoproterozoic Rombak Tectonic Window. The project is underlain by supracrustal volcanic and sedimentary rocks and intruded by granitic and mafic bodies, all affected by major crustal-scale shear zones. The Gautelis occurrence is classified as a syn-orogenic As-Au-Cu system and is hosted near the contact between marble and metagreywacke, where gold-bearing arsenopyrite occurs within marble, metagreywacke, and a strongly sheared meta-dolerite dyke.
Exploration drilling by Folldal Verk during the 1980s intersected 3 m of up to 6–7 g/t Au1. Mineralization occurs within narrow fault zones following the marble-greywacke contact, and mineralized boulders can be traced for several hundred metres beyond the historic workings, indicating continuity of the system.
Recent exploration by Green Glenn Minerals confirmed the prospectivity of the project, returning rock samples of up to 9.7 g/t Au from silicified, pyritic greywacke and a float sample grading 1.9% Cu (Lavelle et al 2022)1. Additional sampling of a sulphide vein previously intersected by drilling returned 0.83 g/t Au, 16.6 g/t Ag, and 0.71% Cu (NGU ore database)1. A north-south trending meta-dolerite dyke is spatially associated with a nearby magnetic anomaly and the known gold mineralization. These relationships highlight the potential for additional gold discoveries beyond the historically explored area.
