Pegmatite-style U-Th-REE project of roughly 6.0 km² in Southern Norway.
The 100% owned Bjordammen project covers 6 km2 and contains an old quarry containing a single EW striking uranium bearing pegmatite of approximately 0.75m thickness.
U, Nb, Ca and Ti are reportedly hosted by a pyrochloro group mineral which form as fine, brown crystals1. The quarry was in operation during the so-called “Thorite fever” in the mid-1890s, and a total of 4 kg of “thorite” was reportedly produced. The area possesses many large, barren pegmatites that could be revisited for uranium potential, including one 35m long and 15m wide pegmatite. Pegmatite grades are currently unknown and initial prospecting will be undertaken.
